About Dakota and CGL Fishing

What’s up guys, this is Dakota with CGL Fishing…. Wait… that’s my intro for YouTube…

Anyway, my name is Dakota and I started this site as well as CGL Fishing on YouTube!

As a military brat, I had the opportunity to fish in many different places and would take any chance I could to sink a hook into the water. However, most of the time, it was on the saltier side.

Freshwater fishing is a whole separate world, and when I moved to York, SC, I felt like a complete noob! After a frustrated sabbatical, I finally started fishing again and learned how to hook one occasionally! Along that path, I learned tips and tricks, which I will share with you.

A couple of years ago, I started CGL Fishing. The name comes from a blog I started as a young(er) adult called the Christian Guy's Life. Later, I started a YouTube channel to record my fishing adventures and help others catch fish too!

God hid some of His most beautiful creatures under the water, and I aim to bring them out and show them on camera! Being local, much of my content happens in Lake Wylie and the surrounding areas! But as I visit or vacation in other areas, I will share those trips with you.

Please join me to learn about this great lake we either call home or home away from home!

"And God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind; and God saw that it was good."
