Fishing is good! Most fish are shallow.
Catfishing is good. This week, I had some great morning bites in the back third of the creeks. The bait of choice is fresh-cut gizzard Shad and white perch. Points and flats produced the best bite in 4-12 feet of water. Crappie are shallow; I want to say they are on the back because they come and go but there are fish on the banks in places. 12-foot deep brush has been a go-to for me this week. Using slip bobbers or trolling over the fish have both worked well. Spotted bass are shallow on rocks and on fire at daylight. NC waters are cold and muddy 57 F on Monday SC waters were 65 F at 5pm Tuesday and clean!
